I have decided to put more time and energy into my research. It’s been a pleasure to answer your emails and to help you through some of life’s tough journeys. Everyone who has participated in my Dear Eugenia column has enriched my life and I hope I have improved yours as well.
For those of you who wish to contribute birth data to my research, please enter your information to my medical astrology research listed on my home page. This research is explicitly dealing with cancer and mental health – addiction illness. The focus is on early diagnosis and preventative medicine.
I want to stress how important it is to submit complete and accurate birth data – the time and place of birth.

My life has totally turned upside down the last 4-5 years; I hope that I am finally on the right course. I just landed a new job (was unemployed) for a while. A man that I thought cared about me totally up and left me (6/29/50) and I have kicked an alcohol addiction. I found out that nobody except one person was there for me. Am I on the right course now? I don't think I could handle any more setbacks; they have been too much for me? Why did Mr. Cancer leave? How does career/job prospects look for the future? Your advice would be most appreciated. Although you are probably overreacting a little this year I do believe that you can but the past behind you. Job prospects continue to look good so if you are looking to advance or to change from one position to another or upgrade to help you move up the professional ladder now is the perfect time to do so. Focus on your work and you will tabularize your life even more. Regarding love you are in a high cycle right now girl so get out and do things you enjoy or answer personal adds in your local financial newspaper or consider joining a dating service and you will meet Mr. Right. Mr. Cancer on the other hand was not the right man for you. The comparison was bad and I believe that this connection was a hindrance to you not an opportunity. My sun sign is in Cancer, I was born July 7, 1979, at 12:15 AM, and I've read enough on astrology to know that I should be compatible with both Virgo and Pisces. My past two relationships were with each, and although lengthy, they proved difficult.I think it may have something to do with my Aries rising. I'm afraid the aggressive nature so common in the ram is a bit intimidating, especially when the aggressor is female. My last fling was with an Aries male, and although at first there were sparks, it quickly diminished. I realize that other aspects affect astrological matchmaking, but I'd like to get your opinion on the matter. What male sign can handle both the Aries stubbornness, and the crab's ultra-sensitivity? My moon is in Sagittarius.

Actually in your particular case the Sun sign match up doesn't work all that well. Normally you should get along well with both Virgo and Scorpio. However, the sign Scorpio falls in an area of your chart that deals with dead end projects so it's unlikely to work. To add to this your natal Jupiter and Mercury are in the sign Leo adversely aspected to the sign Scorpio. The sign Virgo falls in an area that deals with work not personal matters such as relationships plus you have your natal Mars in Gemini and your natal Neptune in Sagittarius and that would clearly play havoc with a strong Virgo. Having your natal Sun in the 4th house adversely aspected to your natal Pluto in the 7th leads me to believe that you will have difficulty with relationships. Now that doesn't mean that you can't have a happy union. Especially with your natal Moon, Neptune, Jupiter and Mercury well aspected to the Pluto in your 7th but it does mean that you will have to choose your partner wisely and realize that relationships don't just happen, they require work, dedication, devotion and perseverance. You match up well to those born under the signs, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn and Aquarius. I suggest that you always run a comparison before you decide to get serious and intimate with someone. Although a person can be born under one of these signs it does not mean that they will have a lot of their natal planets in that sign and this could result in difficulties once again.

I was born in 1978/7/8 at 7:00am, and am now working in Beijing. I am not doing the profession that I studied. I have to start all over again. Last August, when I just came to Beijing, my friend who came here with me died. I feel very sad. I always have the feeling that I should take some responsibility for her death because I brought her to Beijing. If I did not recommend her to the job, she would not come to Beijing and would not die. I am living in the city alone. I have no good friend here, doing something that I am not familiar with, learning new things from the very beginning and earning a very low salary. I don't know whether coming to Beijing has been the right choice. I want to change my job but I am not sure whether the new job requires me to learn new things from the very beginning. I don't even know whether I should get a new job relating to my profession or should I stay in this trading company invested by foreign capital. I really don't know where to go. Hope you can give me some advice.

You must not blame yourself for your friend's untimely death. I believe that we all have a beginning and an end. That nothing can change those two parameters in life. There was nothing you did to cause your friends death nor could have done anything to prevent it. As for you, it's time to get on with your life and put the past behind you. You are in a high cycle regarding relationships, meeting people through the organizations or clubs you join, socializing and putting your creative abilities to work for you. This is a period that you should be expanding your circle of friends. Regarding your work you will not be able to rely on others. You will have to work hard in order to get ahead but if you do it will pay off. The confusion in your chart is evident, especially regarding your future career prospects but if you just continue to work hard eventually this will pass and accomplishment will be yours. Regarding where you live it would be better to consider a move during the second half of this year or the first half of next, as for right now you are better to stay where you are. Stop being so hard on yourself and living in the past. Life is for the living, not the dead. Get out, meet people and move on.
