I have decided to put more time and energy into my research. It’s been a pleasure to answer your emails and to help you through some of life’s tough journeys. Everyone who has participated in my Dear Eugenia column has enriched my life and I hope I have improved yours as well.
For those of you who wish to contribute birth data to my research, please enter your information to my medical astrology research listed on my home page. This research is explicitly dealing with cancer and mental health – addiction illness. The focus is on early diagnosis and preventative medicine.
I want to stress how important it is to submit complete and accurate birth data – the time and place of birth.

I was born January 9th, 1968 at 10:00 P.M. It seems that too often when I read up on Capricorn, there is some type of foreboding or conflict pending, especially of late. Is there some sort of alignment somewhere creating this, and if so when will it change for the better. I have taken on a new business venture that is growing, but there seems to have been a great deal of obstacles slowing things down along the way. I was going insane emotionally and mentally, and so was my partner, who couldn't understand (as a witness), why there were so many delays with so much input on my part. My relationship suffered because of it. Do you know what's going on out there?

Well yes indeed there have been a couple of transiting planets (Saturn and Jupiter) playing havoc with your sign and to top it off other parts of your chart have also been afflicted by Uranus and Neptune as well. One of the most important transits that moved into your chart last fall and will remain with you until late this fall can cause you to expand too fast, take on too much etc so it is important that you don't move or grow too quickly. Transiting Saturn has been moving through the sign Cancer your polar opposite and this can cause limitations, frustrations, setback and obstacles which is exactly what you have been experiencing. This transit will be moving off your chart mid summer bringing you some relief. In the late fall when Jupiter moves into the sign Scorpio for approximately one year you will find that the tables will begin to turn in your favor in many different areas of your life from business to personal. Capricorns are very self-sufficient so they tend to move along even through the difficult times fixing things along the way. You didn't include your partners birth data however I'm sure he or she will be glad to hear that you do have better times heading your way. The area of your chart that deals with partnerships has been experiencing grief as well however this should begin to clear up the second half of this year and throughout next so you should be able to make amends.

I'm a Cancer (7/6/69 2.40 am, Gemini asc.) who's looking for a long-term partner. I tend to look out only for guys of compatible signs, cause I'm thinking that they're the only ones that could yield a healthy long-term relationship. In the last year I find I've been meeting a lot of Libras (clashes with my sun) and Virgos (clashes with my Gemini asc.) but I've not pursued them for the reasons stated. I've read that compatible sun sign relationships are more likely to grow together over the years whereas incompatible sun sign relationships were more likely to grow apart over the years. Am I guilty of Sun sign prejudice (smile), or just taking the astrology thing a little too seriously? Please help.

One thing that most people don't realize is that to use astrology to the degree that is required for the purposes of compatibility you must do a complete astrological comparison between yourself and the person you are interested in. This compatibility feature will give you all the pros and cons of the relationship.
According to the date time and place that you have submitted you are in fact born under the sign Cancer but that's where is ends You have a Taurus ascendant not Gemini, two planets in Virgo well aspected to your Venus in Taurus which makes both Virgo and Taurus a good fit and Uranus in Libra in your fifth house using equal house method and sixth using placidus which means that this sign is better to socialize or work with.
In the area of your chart that deals with partnerships you have the sign Scorpio and this makes that sign Compatible as well. Sagittarius and Gemini fall in your second and eighth house the eighth being dead-end projects and the second an offshoot of the eighth making these signs the least likely especially with the Virgo that you have in your chart. Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, late Capricorn and Pisces should be the better signs for you.

On 19th April 2000 my husband committed suicide. He was undergoing severe depression because of his unemployment and his lack of means of supporting me and our 5 year old boy. We used to live with my family. My family wanted me to divorce him but I had decided to live separate with him so I could give my marriage a chance. The apartment was almost ready, and we were supposed to shift shortly. I had even spoken to my brother and had a job arranged for him. Yet two days before shifting, when I had gone to the apartment to set up things, I found my husband dead in the same apartment. What I need to know now is, why did he have to do such a thing when he knew that I am coming to live with him. His job was also fixed...This one question is really eating me up. I need to know the answer if I have to get on with my life. I was born September 5, 1968 at 9 AM and he was born March 20, 1962, at 9 AM.

Your husband?s chart indicated that he had been under great duress for the past several years. He was disappointed in himself and what he had become. This coupled with his uncertainty regarding his relationship with you due to his own paranoia pushed him over the line. I don?t believe that there was anything that you could have done to prevent his action. He felt that you and your son would be better off without him. In his mind he was trying to make your life easier for you. Your husband was going through extreme mood swings that were impossible for him to control. He was a deeply sensitive man that had trouble accepting what he considered to be failure. The last thing he would have wanted to do was hurt or you down. He was not thinkingclearly and with having a tendency to take drastic measures when he didn?t know how to handle a situation unfortunately the end result was fatal. You on the other hand have a strong chart. This is something that probably attracted him to you in the first place. You are coming into a much higher cycle and it is time to put the past behind you. You owe it to yourself and to your son to move forward in a positive manner. Your chart indicates that you will meet interesting people that will influence you in many ways over the course of this year. You need to get out and do things that are worthwhile. By doing so you will find it much easier to move on. New relationships are likely to develop this year however I suggest that you take your time and build a solid friendship first. You match up well to those born under the signs Taurus, Cancer, Scorpio and Capricorn. You did not submit your son?s birth data, however I can tell from your chart that he is confused and suffering right now and that he needs you to spend additional time with him. Try to join groups or clubs that include him as well. If you stick together you will both overcome the nightmare that you have been forced to endure.
