Hi Eugenia,

I'm a 21-year old gay male living in New Mexico. I have been addicted to substances (alcohol, etc.) since I was a teenager. I can't shake them and can't seem to imagine a life without them. They are getting in the way of possible love interests because if I had a partner, they would need to be patient with the substances. As it is, I cling to phone sex and pornography to continue the escapism. I'm not complaining about my life. I've learned to live with it. But is there something in my chart that would explain my problem? That's all I need to know right now. If you could be so kind as to maybe help me explore this, I would be eternally grateful. You were born with your natal Neptune opposite your natal Venus across your sixth and twelfth. This is considered to be sorrowful, addictive, escapist and so forth. I believe that you are coming to a turning point in your life over the course of the next couple of years while transiting Saturn moves through the sign Gemini. This will cause some depression, some physical limitations and could even lead you to a rehab center or institutional type environment. I believe that you can turn things around if you want but I fear that you will have to hit rock bottom before that happens. Your chart indicates that you must be careful not to get involved with someone who is equally as addictive or someone who is already involved with another. Article: Business and Pleasure

Dear Eugenia,

I'm giving this one more try. I've sent an email to you in the past, however even though unanswered I wasn't really getting to the point. So here goes. When I met my husband in 1993, I thought for sure that he was my soul mate (his dob: 4/21/65/ my dob: 6/15/63). Before I met him, I met a palm reader who told me many things that came true, including that I would meet my soul mate. Things were going well, however this year I find myself questioning if he is the "one". I never gave it a thought a few years ago, but now I'm wondering. I've also found much interest in a man that I work with (4/10/66) and am trying very hard not to think of him other than a friend and co-worker. But I'm having such a hard time. It's not just a feeling of attraction, but a very strong feeling of a connection with this person for some reason. Am I totally out of line feeling this way or could there be something there.

You don't actually match up all that well to either of the men in question. The reason why you are in doubt of the relationship with your husband at this time is because the natal Venus and Mercury in your chart are conjunct transiting Jupiter while your natal Mars, Uranus and Pluto are being squared by Jupiter. This can cause confusion, a need to make changes in your relationship and erratic behavior on your part. I would guess that part of the reason you find yourself attracted to the Aries at work is because you are already dissatisfied with your relationship with your Taurus husband. I think that you have a lot of thinking to do and that you may want to seek counseling in order to help you work through your feelings. It appears to me that you will also be meeting many more potential mates over the course of the next two years and that you will face on going problems if you don't deal with your marriage quickly. Question your true feelings for your husband and start the communications rolling either with him, a counselor or both. You need to make the necessary changes in order to get on with your life. You actually match up well to those born under the signs Leo, Libra, Sagittarius and Aquarius. You do work well with Aries but it isn't wise for you to mix business with pleasure.

Dear Eugenia,

I have an on going struggle with what I should do about my relationship with the man in my life. He is a Leo 1937. I was born February 8, 1946 at 10:16 AM. Here is the problem. We can get along so beautifully and then I do, or say something to upset him. It appears my independence and detachment, upsets him. I try to reassure him that I love him, but I often feel he wants more of me than I can give. He wants to be first and most important in my life. Sharing me with friends is taboo to him. This makes me feel pulled between him and my other pursuits in my life. How can I get around all this? I truly love him, but there is a part of me that I can't control. I MUST have my independence. You neglected to give me specifics regarding your Leo partner however you did include his year of birth so I can assume that his natal Neptune doesn't play too much havoc with your natal chart. Being polar opposites I can definitely see the attraction. With your strong Aquarius traits you would need a certain amount of freedom to come and go as you please in order to be happy. If he can't allow you this freedom you may have to move on. You are coming into a high cycle during the second half of this year and the first half of next year that will help you where love and romance is concerned. It should allow you to meet someone who may be more in tune to the lifestyle you require and who you can relate to better regarding such matters. If you do decide to stay with your Leo friend this period can also be a favorable time to tell how you feel and that he has to allow you to see your friends and to do the things that you enjoy or you will move on and leave him behind. Unfortunately he appears to be possessive and this is something that will always stand between you if he can't come to terms with it. It is also apparent in your chart that you do attract the type of man who does want to possess you and control you. Therefore you must be very careful who you choose and how you set the standard for your relationship.
