For those of you who wish to contribute birth data to my research, please enter your information to my medical astrology research listed on my home page. This research is explicitly dealing with cancer and mental health – addiction illness. The focus is on early diagnosis and preventative medicine.
I want to stress how important it is to submit complete and accurate birth data – the time and place of birth.

I'm a 21-year old gay male living in New Mexico. I have been addicted to substances (alcohol, etc.) since I was a teenager. I can't shake them and can't seem to imagine a life without them. They are getting in the way of possible love interests because if I had a partner, they would need to be patient with the substances. As it is, I cling to phone sex and pornography to continue the escapism. I'm not complaining about my life. I've learned to live with it. But is there something in my chart that would explain my problem? That's all I need to know right now. If you could be so kind as to maybe help me explore this, I would be eternally grateful. I was born July 14, 1980, at 4 AM.

I believe that you are coming to a turning point in your life over the course of the next couple of years while transiting Saturn moves through the sign Gemini. This will cause some depression, some physical limitations and could even lead you to a rehab center or institutional type environment. I believe that you can turn things around if you want but I fear that you will have to hit rock bottom before that happens. I am in a perplexing situation. I was born on February 27, 1958 at 12:01 p.m. My husband of 24 years was born on January 31, 1957. He is a good man and a good supporter. We have had our share of problems in the past. We have 3 great children. My problem is that I am wondering if my hubby is keeping a "secret" from me. He is self-employed, and buys and sells cars. He has a pager and is always being paged even on Sundays. I once looked at his pager and there were numbers entered after the phone numbers and when I asked him about it, he said he never saw them. Now when I look, there is no longer any numbers added. He also loves to gamble, and when I ask how much he spent, or won, there is great hesitation before he answers. It is like I am prying or something. I have a great "gut" feeling that something is off, but I do not know what or why. This is driving me nutty. Any feeling on this subject?

I believe you are on to something however it will be important that you handle this situation with kid gloves. Your comparison does indicate some sorrow revolving around gambling, children, investments, business, overspending, excessive behavior and so on. I believe that he has been going through temptations and a difficult period for the past few years while transiting Neptune has adversely hit his chart. If you try to get him to talk about what's in fact going on he is likely to shut down getting you nowhere fast. You may find it easier to approach him after the middle of July when he will be in a better position to deal with these matters. I wouldn't be too worried however, it is apparent by his chart that he usually lands on his feet.

I wrote to you once before, but it appears my letter was overlooked. I'm beginning to feel a little stressed over a situation that appears to be inevitable in my love life. I'm a Sagittarius, born December 2, 1961 at 9:45 p.m. A few years ago I met a wonderful man at work. He's a Gemini; born June 2, 1960 (I'm not sure of the time). I have a wonderful connection with this man--when we talk we're so connected that we finish each other's sentences. I also feel a strong connection in that I can feel his energy around me when he's not there. I've never felt this way with anyone before---not even my ex-husband. He was going through his divorce about the same time I was (shortly after we met), and we've been friends since then. I would like a romantic relationship with him, and I feel he wants one with me too but he seems to take two steps forward and then hold back. I can only assume this is because he's cautious of being hurt again. He won't reveal the reason to me. About six weeks ago, I met another man (Scorpio, born November 9, 1964, I don't know the time). We've talked a lot on the phone and started to date. I don't feel the same attraction with the Scorpio that I do with the Gemini, but the Scorpio is more "forward" in his approach which I really like. He also is not afraid to talk about his feelings, which I think is very important. I like him a lot--he's very sweet, considerate, intelligent and fun. I intend to keep dating the Scorpio. Can you tell me if the Gemini will ever step forward the way I've always hoped he would?I dread making choices between men, but I can almost see how this will play out. You are still going through a very unstable period where relationships are concerned. To try to make a decision at this time would probably end in a negative spin. Both comparisons were just adequate. I think that you can do much better. I get the feeling that you don't like to be single, that you truly want someone to love when really you'd be best to go it alone for at least a little longer. Opportunities to make changes in your home environment will be present until the middle of next year and you should be focusing on doing just that. Build your own base and do the things that you like to do. It's time to enjoy your freedom. You match up well to those born under the signs Aries, Gemini, Libra and Aquarius. You will be in a much higher cycle regarding love and romance in 2002. For now you should be enjoying the company of friends and discovering whom you are and what you want in a partner. Don't jump into a new relationship too fast and for the wrong reason.
