Hi Eugenia,

I'm a 21-year old gay male living in New Mexico. I have been addicted to substances (alcohol, etc.) since I was a teenager. I can't shake them and can't seem to imagine a life without them. They are getting in the way of possible love interests because if I had a partner, they would need to be patient with the substances. As it is, I cling to phone sex and pornography to continue the escapism. I'm not complaining about my life. I've learned to live with it. But is there something in my chart that would explain my problem? That's all I need to know right now. If you could be so kind as to maybe help me explore this, I would be eternally grateful. I was born July 14, 1980, at 4 AM.

You were born with your natal Neptune opposite your natal Venus across your sixth and twelfth. This is considered to be sorrowful, addictive, escapist and so forth. I believe that you are coming to a turning point in your life over the course of the next couple of years while transiting Saturn moves through the sign Gemini. This will cause some depression, some physical limitations and could even lead you to a rehab center or institutional type environment. I believe that you can turn things around if you want but I fear that you will have to hit rock bottom before that happens. Your chart indicates that you must be careful not to get involved with someone who is equally as addictive or someone who is already involved with another. Article: Slim Pickings

Dear Eugenia,

I was in a very intense, 4-month relationship that ended Feb, 2000. I am a Taurus/Gemini cusp, born May 21, 1958 @ 3:20 a.m. and he was born Sept. 13, 1957. He ended it in a very callous fashion, i.e. a phone call informing me it was over with no prior discussion, no fight, no indication whatsoever that anything was wrong. Needless to say I was devastated, not to mention shocked and betrayed beyond belief. He was/is the only man I have ever loved as there wasn't a single thing about him that I didn't like and I have NEVER found that before or since.

Being single at age 42 is no picnic. Pickings are slim simply because of logistics and what is available usually involves problems with kids, ex-wives and whatever other baggage they are bound to be carrying. So I find myself feeling totally hopeless that I will never find someone I cared for like I did him. I have been to the beach and back and know full well how bad the odds are.

So, before I toss in all my chips and waste no further effort into trying to meet someone, I thought I'd ask you if and when you foresee me ever finding happiness.

Don't throw in the towel just yet. There are opportunities to meet potential partners this year but you must get out and join organizations you believe in. It is important that you also take the time to grow and expand your horizons this year. You are headed toward your second half-life Saturn and it is time to reevaluate and make the necessary changes. Hi Scorpio

I like the Aries Scorpio connection because both signs are ruled by the planet Mars. They tend to really compliment one another in most cases and unlike most signs Scorpio can usually keep up to the fast paced Aries. In your case however your partner is not that strong an Aries and although he thinks like one that's about as far as it goes. This relationship appears to be of a karmic nature and although I'm not quite sure what you have to resolve I do believe that it has something to do with money, health and one of you having to take care of the other. With his natal Venus squaring your natal Neptune in your ninth and his third house I believe there will be some sorrow that will develop that probably has to do with friends and relatives and communication. It will be important if you want this relationship to run smoothly and go the distance that you act as one. In other words there can be no other person who takes precedence over the two of you. You must totally stick up for one another regardless and treat the rest of the people in your lives as outsiders. If you can do that I believe that it can work at least for a relatively long period of time. His rising sign falls in your eighth house and yours in his fifth. This could create a problem where children/pregnancy is concerned. Make sure that you both have the same idea of where you see yourself in ten or twenty years before you decide to take the big matrimonial step into the future.
