For those of you who wish to contribute birth data to my research, please enter your information to my medical astrology research listed on my home page. This research is explicitly dealing with cancer and mental health – addiction illness. The focus is on early diagnosis and preventative medicine.
I want to stress how important it is to submit complete and accurate birth data – the time and place of birth.

I'm a 21-year old gay male living in New Mexico. I have been addicted to substances (alcohol, etc.) since I was a teenager. I can't shake them and can't seem to imagine a life without them. They are getting in the way of possible love interests because if I had a partner, they would need to be patient with the substances. As it is, I cling to phone sex and pornography to continue the escapism. I'm not complaining about my life. I've learned to live with it. But is there something in my chart that would explain my problem? That's all I need to know right now. If you could be so kind as to maybe help me explore this, I would be eternally grateful. I believe that you are coming to a turning point in your life over the course of the next couple of years while transiting Saturn moves through the sign Gemini. This will cause some depression, some physical limitations and could even lead you to a rehab center or institutional type environment. I believe that you can turn things around if you want but I fear that you will have to hit rock bottom before that happens. Your chart indicates that you must be careful not to get involved with someone who is equally as addictive or someone who is already involved with another. I have written to you a few times. I hope you can tell me what to do. I lost my mom on Nov. 13, 2000. I am very lost and lonely. I don't want to do anything but sleep. I have lived with my 3 year-olds father for 4 years. We don't get along very well. He is drinking a lot and also thinks I should be over the death of my mom already. He has two healthy parents, so he doesn't know what it is like. My dad was only given 1 to 3 months to live last week, because of cancer. My boyfriend (if that is what you call him) says I can pull myself out of this or die right along with them. He is no support to me. I know he is seeing someone else, but at this point I don't care. I just need some advice on what to do with the way I feel about life. I was born May 26, 1963, at 12 PM.

I can tell by the transits moving through your personal houses in your chart that you are at a turning point in your life regarding your partner. I feel that it is time to start thinking about the best way to make yours and your child's life better. You did not submit the birth data of either your child or the man you're living with therefore I can not explain his lack of support. My guess is that he can't face death himself therefore he is not able to justify the kind of loss that you are experiencing. It hasn't been very long since your mother died and with your father in the shape that he is in it must be extremely painful for you. You do however for the sake of your child have to handle your situation bravely. You should probably consider making a move in a positive direction (possibly away from your boyfriend) late spring or you should start talking to him about his insensitivity and telling him you need greater support and love if he expects you and your child to stay with him. Your depression and grieving you are experiencing will end but for now it is what you need in order to get through this most difficult period in your life. I need your advice. My girlfriend left me ten months ago and I have been trying my best since to recover. We were together for about two years. I have been trying to work for personal goals in order to better my life: counseling and I am in the process of applying to law school. I am unable to get over her. I have respected her wishes and left the situation alone but I keep hoping for a second chance. I am constantly plagues by self-doubt. Aside from the heartbreak, I am studying for law school and I am uncertain about what school will accept me and whether to stay in New York City because it constantly reminds me of the past. Am I waiting and hoping in vain for my ex-girlfriend. If you have any advice or insight into the relationship or school please help. Thank you.

You didn't mention your ex-girlfriend's date of birth so I can't run a comparison between the two of you or even tell you what she might be thinking but I can tell you that you have been going through a very depressing time with transiting Saturn crossing over your ascendant and this has probably accounted for some of the trouble you are having letting go. Although this transit is still plaguing you there are good things that it can be used for. Education, self-improvement and in general feeling better about you are just a few ways to use up the energy that Saturn brings with it. It is apparent that you are trying to do all of these things and so I feel confident that you will get through it. With your natal Venus in the sign Capricorn well aspected to both your natal Mars and Jupiter I can not imagine you remaining single once the Saturn transit passes as a matter of fact there is evidence that you will probably meet someone through a friend, work, school, while traveling or even over the internet so don't give up. I must tell you however that between now and the summer of next year I really feel that you are best to put your time and effort into your educational pursuits and leave the whole relationship thing until later next year when you will have a better handle on what you really want in a partner. You match up well to those born under the signs Aries, Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio and Capricorn. This is not the time to look back or to live in the past and although transiting Saturn can have a tendency to make you do just that it is important that you look forward and work toward your goals. You actually do best with partners who are either a bit older or a bit younger. The partners your own age can be a problem. Regarding making a move - it isn't a bad time to do so but do it for the right reason. Sometimes facing your past is exactly what you need to do in order to get over it and move forward.
