Hi Eugenia,

I'm a 21-year old gay male living in New Mexico. I have been addicted to substances (alcohol, etc.) since I was a teenager. I can't shake them and can't seem to imagine a life without them. They are getting in the way of possible love interests because if I had a partner, they would need to be patient with the substances. As it is, I cling to phone sex and pornography to continue the escapism. I'm not complaining about my life. I've learned to live with it. But is there something in my chart that would explain my problem? That's all I need to know right now. If you could be so kind as to maybe help me explore this, I would be eternally grateful. Dear Eugenia,

Hello my birth date is Jan 11th of 1980, at 7:18 a.m. My boyfriends birthday is May 24th of 1975, not sure the time, is using drugs (so I believe) I have known him for 9 years and I also was a drug addict until Jan 19th of 2004. I was incarcerated for one year and been clean ever since. I also had my child while I was incarcerated on June 13th of 2004 at 12:25 in the afternoon. She is the reason why I'm clean today. She is so precious to me and I love her to death. I will do anything for her I even quit smoking. But her father bob I think is still using. You see he lives 2 and 1/2 hours away. He really doesn't do anything for our child he has given me only $50.00 since she was born and only seen her about 6 times in 9 months. I'm afraid for him and I want a better life for him. I just don't know what he's thinking anymore. Since his mother passed away 4 years ago it's like he always looked at life as nothing but a downhill for him. He thinks everybody is out to get him and that there's some kind of curse on him cause everything bad always happens when something good comes along. Do you see any future with us being a family at all? Do you see me being an independent mother? I want everything for my child. Bob hasn't been there for me through a lot and I hate him for that. But deep down inside I love him. After all I did for him. He has been trying to get clean but I don't think its working out for him. I talked to him on the phone this morning and he sounded messed up. He said he was going to call me back but never did. When I called him tonight his father told me he went out... go figure. His best friend mike passed away this morning and it was an overdose. I have been through a lot and well I was just wondering if you see a brighter future for me. You should be very proud of yourself. It isn't easy to beat addiction. Now you have to protect you and your little girl from the perils of that whole scene. Your boyfriend does not match up well to either you or your daughter. It is best for you to walk away from him and not look back. You need to focus on yourself and getting ahead. Hi Eugenia

AAAARRGG! Not another relationship question?!

I've written a few times without receiving a reply but persist out of dire need. I'm at my wit's end about what to do.I am in the 20th year of marriage to a man I wonder if I ever truly loved. We have three children. Over the past 5 or 6 years, I feel I have changed a great deal. I no longer want the same things, nor am I happy to settle for a mediocre relationship "for the sake of the children". I know I should listen to my heart and question my mind but I feel like I've turned it over and over until I can't seem to decide. Am I destined to go through life biding my time or am I waiting for the time to be right? I sometimes feel like I don't know anything anymore and am just letting life drag me along. I understand your dilemma, however there are a lot of variables involved in your case. You didn't mention how old your children are, therefore it is hard to know what your responsibilities at this time are. Your comparison with your Libra husband is mediocre. I do believe that at one time you did have a passionate connection but that was long ago. I feel that you have both been very limiting for one another and that maybe the best thing to do is to discuss your options. Your husband does have his natal Sun squaring his natal Mars and this can cause him to have a temper if it falls in a certain area of his chart however without his time of birth I can't tell how this aspect will manifest itself. If he hasn't shown this trait I believe that you should be able to make some decisions as a couple that will allow you both greater freedom to come and go as you please or to actually get on with your lives. The children however should be your first concern, so whatever is best for them at this time is the bottom line.
