I have decided to put more time and energy into my research. It’s been a pleasure to answer your emails and to help you through some of life’s tough journeys. Everyone who has participated in my Dear Eugenia column has enriched my life and I hope I have improved yours as well.
For those of you who wish to contribute birth data to my research, please enter your information to my medical astrology research listed on my home page. This research is explicitly dealing with cancer and mental health – addiction illness. The focus is on early diagnosis and preventative medicine.
I want to stress how important it is to submit complete and accurate birth data – the time and place of birth.

Every time I read my horoscope, there is one thing I'd like to know...That's why I'm writing to you, I was born February 2, 1977, at 5:00 AM. Whenever we are unsure of our future, we look up our horoscope. Then, it might only be 50% correct, however, at least we can get to know little,...then for example, people who have financial luck do not have to work and people who don't have, they have to work throughout their lives...Of course we can not just reply on horoscope...we can just get help from it... If our fate is already determined, then what should we do?

Good question. Astrology is a mathematical science and an interpretive art. Only God can determine how long ones life will last but some of the things that we go through in life are determined by what we do as individuals. In your particular case your chart indicates that you are very bright and capable of making a lot of money through investments over the years. You will be in a high cycle regarding learning and educational pursuits as well as travel between now and the July of next year. You should also be looking at all your options regarding your career and job prospects between now and the end of 2001. You can make favorable professional changes if you put your mind to it. You should be careful however that you don't overspend foolishly over the next year and a half on social activities, entertainment, gambling or luxury items. If you can budget wisely until the end of next year you will be in a good position to invest in a worthwhile venture that should be quite prosperous. As you can see, there are good times and bad times to be doing certain things throughout your life. It isn't necessarily true that one person's chart is better than someone else's is but more so that one has better timing than the other does. Astrology can help you decipher when it is the best time to start something new or make a change or take advantage of an opportunity. As I have said many times, the ancient art of astrology is the modern art of timing.

I have written several times; hopefully I will be one of the lucky ones this time. I have been married without children for 5 years now. Our relationship has many problems, which we have gone to counseling for in the last 2 yrs. Compatibility is an issue since we don't match up that well in our charts (average). I'm thinking of leaving but I'm afraid I'm just repeating old behavior patterns (this is my 2nd marriage). Do you see anything in my chart that would indicate such a thing? You are confused for a number of reasons right now however lets deal with your relationship first. You and your Taurus husband do not match up as well as lovers should. I can see where you may get along like a sister and brother or distant friend but certainly not in any other capacity. You have the major sign of sorrow in your comparison and this usually means that it won't last for one reason or another. You will be in a high cycle regarding love and romance late next year and well into 2003. You should do whatever is necessary to get on with your life now so that you aren't tied down when this period comes into play. I was born in January 29, 1973 at between 4:00am to 5:00am. This past August, I met a boy who was born in February 29, 1968 (I don't know his birth time). I started going out with him but lately I have found that we don't have much in common to talk about. My friends suggested that we should try to work out for a longer period. I don't what to do. Can you tell me if we are compatible? You advice is much appreciated.

The comparison with your Pisces mate is actually quite favorable. In this case your friends are giving you some good advice to hang in and see where it goes. Unfortunately I feel that you probably just aren't ready to get involved right now. Consider talking to him and telling him that for now you just want to be friends. Possibly if you let your friendship grow you may find that you have more in common. I think that he is probably holding back for fear that you won't like him. Your chart indicates that he is already in a high cycle regarding love and romantic relationships and that your chart will not come into this cycle until the second half of next year. If you decide not to give this young man a chance you should keep in mind that you do match up to his sign as well as to the signs Taurus, Cancer and Virgo as well.
