I have decided to put more time and energy into my research. It’s been a pleasure to answer your emails and to help you through some of life’s tough journeys. Everyone who has participated in my Dear Eugenia column has enriched my life and I hope I have improved yours as well.

This research is explicitly dealing with cancer and mental health – addiction illness. The focus is on early diagnosis and preventative medicine.

Every time I read my horoscope, there is one thing I'd like to know...That's why I'm writing to you, I was born February 2, 1977, at 5:00 AM. Whenever we are unsure of our future, we look up our horoscope. Then, it might only be 50% correct, however, at least we can get to know little,...then for example, people who have financial luck do not have to work and people who don't have, they have to work throughout their lives...Of course we can not just reply on horoscope...we can just get help from it... If our fate is already determined, then what should we do?

Good question. Astrology is a mathematical science and an interpretive art. Only God can determine how long ones life will last but some of the things that we go through in life are determined by what we do as individuals. In your particular case your chart indicates that you are very bright and capable of making a lot of money through investments over the years. You will be in a high cycle regarding learning and educational pursuits as well as travel between now and the July of next year. You should also be looking at all your options regarding your career and job prospects between now and the end of 2001. You can make favorable professional changes if you put your mind to it. You should be careful however that you don't overspend foolishly over the next year and a half on social activities, entertainment, gambling or luxury items. If you can budget wisely until the end of next year you will be in a good position to invest in a worthwhile venture that should be quite prosperous. As you can see, there are good times and bad times to be doing certain things throughout your life. It isn't necessarily true that one person's chart is better than someone else's is but more so that one has better timing than the other does. Astrology can help you decipher when it is the best time to start something new or make a change or take advantage of an opportunity. As I have said many times, the ancient art of astrology is the modern art of timing.

I am currently going through a divorce and I feel that the financial burden being imposed on me is unfair. Also, I fear that my wife will leave the state with my children making it even more difficult for me to see them. My question is two fold. Will I be able to financially afford what she is asking for and still have a place of my own to take the kids? And, do you believe she will move the kids out of state?

You didn't submit your wife or children's birth information making it difficult for me to know what she will do. What I can tell you is that your financial limitations are still present between now and the summer of next year however after that time it is evident that you should be able to swing whatever settlement or agreement you make with her. I believe there is a law that does not allow one parent to take the children more than X amount of miles away from the other parent if you have joint custody however this may change from state to state. Your chart indicates that you should be focusing on your professional goals and that if you are diligent about getting ahead you can be successful over the next four years. I do believe that your wife will try to restrict your visitation rights between now and the end of the summer of next year. You must fight this and do whatever is necessary to be as much a part of your children's lives as you can. If you live close to one another it isn't uncommon these days to have the children with you half the time and with her the other half. In that case you should not have to pay support because you are both equally raising your children. There are many routes to take however if she has left you because of infidelity or other damaging or cruel reasons you will end up paying dearly so get working towards professional advancement now so that you can cover the costs. Don't let the uncertainty or depression regarding your failing marriage deter you from getting involved with new partners or develop new friendships. It is important for you to get on with your life.

Article: Troubles in Beijing

Dear Eugenia,

I was born in 1978/7/8 at 7:00am, and am now working in Beijing. I am not doing the profession that I studied. I have to start all over again. Last August, when I just came to Beijing, my friend who came here with me died. I feel very sad. I always have the feeling that I should take some responsibility for her death because I brought her to Beijing. If I did not recommend her to the job, she would not come to Beijing and would not die. I am living in the city alone. I have no good friend here, doing something that I am not familiar with, learning new things from the very beginning and earning a very low salary. I don't know whether coming to Beijing has been the right choice. I want to change my job but I am not sure whether the new job requires me to learn new things from the very beginning. I don't even know whether I should get a new job relating to my profession or should I stay in this trading company invested by foreign capital. I really don't know where to go. You must not blame yourself for your friend's untimely death. I believe that we all have a beginning and an end. That nothing can change those two parameters in life. There was nothing you did to cause your friends death nor could have done anything to prevent it. As for you, it's time to get on with your life and put the past behind you. You are in a high cycle regarding relationships, meeting people through the organizations or clubs you join, socializing and putting your creative abilities to work for you. This is a period that you should be expanding your circle of friends. Regarding your work you will not be able to rely on others. You will have to work hard in order to get ahead but if you do it will pay off. The confusion in your chart is evident, especially regarding your future career prospects but if you just continue to work hard eventually this will pass and accomplishment will be yours. Regarding where you live it would be better to consider a move during the second half of this year or the first half of next, as for right now you are better to stay where you are.
