I have decided to put more time and energy into my research. It’s been a pleasure to answer your emails and to help you through some of life’s tough journeys. Everyone who has participated in my Dear Eugenia column has enriched my life and I hope I have improved yours as well.
For those of you who wish to contribute birth data to my research, please enter your information to my medical astrology research listed on my home page. This research is explicitly dealing with cancer and mental health – addiction illness. The focus is on early diagnosis and preventative medicine.
I want to stress how important it is to submit complete and accurate birth data – the time and place of birth.

I have been in a depression for the last several years since my mother died. I find that I am coming out of it now, and the world seems to be new to me. I had put everything on hold and been in limbo for several years. Along with my more positive attitude, I would like to make some changes in my life, but there are so many areas that I need to change, I don't know which direction to go in first. Do you have any advice on which area of my life it is more urgent to concentrate my energy on? I was born April 22, 1967, at 9:16am, in LA.

Between now and March of next year you should focus on making changes in your home. You will find that from April on next year it will be much easier to make personal changes including picking up new skills, educational pursuits, traveling and self-improvement in general. Regarding your career you will be in a much better position to make changes beginning in July of next year until the spring of 2002. Opportunities for relationships both business and emotional are already starting to open up and will continue to do so throughout next year. This period will also bring people from your past back into your life so if there is anyone that you would like to reconnect with this would be the time to instigate a reunion.

Dear Eugenia,
I am a 27-year-old Pisces born February 28, 1976, at 5:30 PM and I have recently been made aware of 'Saturn Return' in my chart? This could explain my exhaustion and frustration over the last couple of years. I am tired of being self-employed, I realize it has taken away from my social life and financially I am just hanging on. I have recently interviewed for summer work to alleviate the stresses, with no luck. Though I seem at peace with life I don't have the securities my peers have, career, social and romantic stability. I do admit I would like to settle down. Is it this 'Saturn Return' that is affecting my life? Will it go away? At this point, any advice or words of hope would help.

Your Saturn return hasn't begun yet. Although you will start to feel the impact of your Saturn return over the next year it will actually have the strongest affect on you between late August of next year (2004) and will remain with you for approximately one year ending late July 2005. During that time you will reevaluate your life and make decisions based on the way you feel about your past. It is a pivotal point in a person's life when Saturn returns. Some people do well with it because they take the initiative, make the necessary changes and proceed in a positive and upward motion. Others find it overwhelming and decide that what they have achieved is all life has to offer and that they are too old to make changes - which I might add is ridiculous and a cop out. As for you I do not see your Saturn return as being that much of a problem. Regarding what has been causing you all the friction the past several years I would have to say is transiting Uranus and Neptune moving through the sign Aquarius. You were born with your Moon, Mercury and Venus in that sign in an area of your chart that does deal with work. Unfortunately it has played havoc with you and although it isn't over yet I do believe that you will always go back to doing your own thing. You are innovative, creative and have a good chart when it comes to work and money. If you want to work for someone else that is fine. You should be able to land a decent job shortly. I might suggest however that you do try to keep your business running on the side. I feel that if you do it will pick up giving you the satisfaction you need. As for your social, personal and home life - well that is where transiting Saturn has been affecting your life the past couple of years putting a damper on relationships and in general your social life. You will be coming into a much higher cycle regarding such matters as transiting Saturn moves into the sign Cancer coupled with Uranus which has just moved briefly into the sign Pisces opening up all sorts of new opportunities and changes regarding both business and personal partnerships. It's time to prepare for change and don't be afraid to partner up with someone in all aspects of your life. You may discover that joining forces with someone regarding your business may be a prosperous journey as well. I have this huge problem regarding my sexuality. I think I'm a gay as I like watching handsome guys. This has happened for years and I'm really ashamed. I have no one to talk to. I am really worried about my future and my marriage later. Am I truly a gay? Or is it just a phase. I have tried to build relationships with girls but I keep failing. Please tell me what to do. I'm really confused and tired of struggling all the time. Is this some kind of punishment because I hate my father? For your information, I have never been close to my father since my childhood. I have read magazines that this could make someone a gay. Please help me because I think you're the only person who can help me. I was born August 19, 1981, at 2:00 AM. Thank you very much.

Your chart does indicate that many of your problems stem from your relationship with your father as well as other factors that were present in your upbringing. You do have your natal Venus, Saturn and Jupiter opposite your natal Moon and this can be extremely confusing regarding your emotions as well as your sexuality. I feel at this point that you are just a late bloomer and that you will change your mind regarding your sexuality many times over the course of the next few years. You are coming into a high cycle regarding love and therefore the opportunity to experiment a little should help you move in the direction that is best suited to you. I do feel however that the right partner will help you determine that you are straight not gay.
