This desire leads some individuals to skip over the basics of their subject in order to get to the more interesting and more impressive information, where they can display their creativity. This is a mistake. All good education begins with a solid grounding in the basics. In other words, you have to walk before you can run, or you risk tripping and falling on your face. Save your good ideas and ingenuity until after you have mastered the rudimentary knowledge.
